The final entry
Received the following information:-.Floyd sailed from
Southhampton on the S.S. Majestic Feb 13 and arrived in New York Feb 19, 1936. He had arrived in Asmara, Ethiopa - the Italian army headquarters Sept 19 and was the first foreign correspondent to arrive at the war front. He collapsed during a broadcast from Eritrea on Oct 26 and spent 5 weeks recovering in Cairo. He took a meandering trip through Europe on his way back to the U.S., until boarding the S.S. Majestic.
Well I do hope you enjoyed your visit and any help as I said will happily be added to the pages.
I found the whole thing very interesting but keep drawing blanks some signatures I think I can make out but don't know any history to link the name to faces or why they were aboard the Majestic in the first place. The latter is the most interesting of all. Why was Augusta Spencer Churchill on board at the same time as other nobility???
There were many interesting signatures especially J. M. Barrie. But who exactly were the Fripp people and what about the Gibb sisters from a freak show on Coney Island??
